After growing up and starting their own family in Calgary, Mike and Christina made their dream come true and bought an acreage in the Evansburg area.  They moved in 2016 and love every minute raising their family and spending time with friends.  They both knew they wanted to start a business and make a difference in people’s lives.  Fortunately, a door opened and an opportunity to start a Home Care Company in the Yellowhead County area presented itself.  Both Mike and Christina were close to their Grandfathers, who eventually ended up in nursing homes because their Grandmother’s had Caregiver burnout.  If they had the option to have kept their loved one in their own house and hire someone who could give them the care and TLC they needed they would have.  This experience is where the couple’s passion comes from.  They both are excited to help people of all needs as they successfully grow Unity Home Care Pembina Valley.

Compassionate and Caring

Christina has been working part time with AHS for the past 16 years.  This career gave her the flexibility to raise both her children and be apart of their extra curricular activities which included managing sports teams and coordinating tournaments.  Christina enjoys spending time with family and friends.  Her big heart and passion to help others definitely played a big part to start Unity Home Care Pembina Valley and make a difference to the people in her community.

Confident with a Huge Heart

Marie was born and raised in the Maritimes. Her career started as a Care Aide and for many years she enjoyed working with and helping seniors.  She has a wonderful son and loving husband; they moved to Alberta in 2011. Marie worked in construction with her husband for a number of years and was able to purchase their forever home just outside of Evansburg.  Marie decided she'd like to give back to the community she proudly calls home. An opportunity with Unity Home Care Pembina Valley became available for a Care Aide and she knew this would be a perfect fit. Marie is looking forward to growing with the Unity Family.

Marrie was born in the Netherlands and immigrated in 1992 to Millet.  She moved to Wildwood in 2013 with her two sons.  Marrie has farmed (Dairy and Beef) all her life and did a combination of farming and trucking for the past 6 years.  Currently Marrie enjoys her free time farming and raising cows with her boyfriend, Thomas.  After caring for elderly family members, she realized how much she enjoyed working with seniors and making sure their days were filled with kindness and helped with whatever they needed.  She joined Unity Home Care Pembina Valley in the summer of 2021 and continually grows everyday by helping people in the community.

Thoughtful and Warmhearted

Lillian was raised in Chetwynd, a beautiful yet isolated town in the BC mountains. She grew up with a large family and has always been a very outgoing and caring person. While in Chetwynd her family struggled to find care for her grandparents. As a result, Lillian's family moved to Evansburg in 2018 to provide care for her Grandma with Cancer. Her last few years were greatly improved by advocates like Lillian's mother and kind nurses. In 2021 Lillian was able to provide care and companionship to a family friend with ALS. She became a close friend and she saw a great improvement in her mood and comfort when she was with her. These experiences left Lillian feeling motivated to help care for others."
